Weekend With Friends and Family
Nolan and I flew to Washington D.C. on Thursday to visit my friend Katy and her family. Nolan pulled his Thomas luggage around the airport. He had a great time on the people movers.
Nolan jumped right in with the toys and hopped on Nicolas' backhoe loader.

He had a ball with this big dump truck and taught Nicolas how to play "garbage truck."
We went to the Playseum in Bethesda, MD, on Friday. It is an awesome children's museum with a twist and most exhibit materials are recycled.
Nolan pretended to build a grocery store.
He played "firefighter."
We went to the story time, and then Nolan sang "Jingle Bell Rock" while playing the guitar on the stage.
Nicolas and Nolan played with the trains.
Nolan drove a pick-up truck.
He went shopping at the grocery store.
He was the checker, too.
Nolan played basketball.
The boys walked across a bridge near a big tree.
He played in "my grandma's attic" and had fun with "really old stuff."
There were tunnels in some rooms to crawl through and access the next room...it was so cute!
The construction area was a favorite...
teamwork!
Nolan added some goggles and a hardhat. Safety first!
He crashed in the car and took good naps each day of our trip.
Nicolas and Nolan had a fun bath together each night.
Katy facilitated a story time each night, too.
Nolan watched a DVD in bed and thought it was the greatest thing!
We went to see some sights in DC on Saturday. Nolan enjoyed seeing Barack Obama's big house.
He liked the Department of Treasury "where they make the money."
The boys hugged at the Washington Monument.
Nolan stopped to check out every emergency vehicle on our long walk around town. He loved all the action in DC and police officers everywhere!
We had fun at the Monument.
We went to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Nolan was in awe of the big whale and wondered if the worker guys used ladders or a big cherry picker truck to hang it from the ceiling.
He took a picture in the mouth of a shark.
We saw lots of skeletons and artifacts.
We loved all the historic sights.
Nolan took a carousel ride on the mall. He settled for a horse since there were no dolphins.
We took turns pushing the double stroller.
Andre let Nolan ride the backhoe loader around the house. Nolan had a blast!
The boys played after their bath.
We took quick photo before heading to the airport on Sunday. We had a great visit! Thanks to the ter Weele's for a fun weekend away!
