Thursday Trip

Nolan woke up this morning, and I told him we were going on a trip. He was so excited to find out that we were going to the fire station and to visit Pops at work! Our friend, Mr. Murphy, works at a fire house near St. Ignatius, so we visited him first.
Nolan pumped and squirted water from the smallest hose on the fire truck.

He relaxed in the kitchen with a nice orange popsicle.

Mr. Murphy was called to investigate a fire when we were getting ready to leave.

Nolan loved running on the "tracks" outside the fire house.
After the fire house, we visited Pops at work.
Nolan took some cones out of Pops' office.
He talked about the big cone and little cone.
We walked upstairs to visit some work friends.
Nolan and Pops had a snack and drink in the dining hall.
Pops took Nolan in the storage room.
He played ice cream truck at this little doorway at the main entrance of the school. He told everyone "two dollars."
Nolan wore Pops' lanyard.
A guidance counselor gave Nolan a cool Butler pennant.
Nolan was getting tired while he watched some big kids play floor hockey.
We went outside to the garden, and Nolan threw his baseball from Pops.
We had such a fun day!
Thanks Mr. Murphy and Pops for two great visits!

Outside Helper

We did lots of yard work today. Nolan helped cut the grass, sweep the curb and sidewalks and push/pull the big brown yard waste can. The village put a street light on our green strip late last fall, and they never really finished their project. So, we decided to put some dirt and will soon add some seed to have nice grass again. Nolan helped pour the dirt and knew just what to do as he initiated getting the proper tools to assist with this project.

He also knows what tools to get when there is dog poop on our lawn (which is an almost every day occurrence lately). Nolan is appalled (I am, too) that dogs would poop on our lawn, and he runs to get his shovel to clean it up.

Nolan is the best helper ever! He loves outdoor projects!

Catcher Hats and More...

Pops showed Nolan how to wear his baseball hat like a catcher... He flipped it around, too!

Pops and Nolan used teamwork while playing with the slide.

Nolan tried on some shorts and had a deep discussion with Pops.
They had lots of fun on the slide!

Fun Friday Visit

We had a great visit with GG, Aunt Joann and Aunt Mar today! GG is healing from her knee replacement surgery, and Nolan was good medicine for all! He had fun playing the piano with Aunt Joann. He was super excited to play with the blue dump truck and pull the wagon...he talked about it all afternoon when I told him we were going to GG's house.
He read the directions for the Dominoes game.
Everyone pretended to fall asleep, and Nolan was the alarm as he told us to get up!
Nolan walked up and down the stairs with GG.
I gave Nolan some fun horsey rides around the room.
Nolan did some stretches with GG...

He practiced using GG's cane.

He played "church" and pretended GG's cane was the cross for the altar servers as he sang "Amen." Nolan is such a good Catholic!
He climbed up and down and spun around the pole like a firefighter.

Nolan put on his raincoat and was ready to go home. He is quite a fashion statement!
Thanks for a great visit! We had such a fun time!
